Former Widefield school administrator pleads guilty to child sex assault

A former administrator with the Widefield School District pleaded guilty Friday after being accused of having sex with a child multiple times in 2016.

James McGhee will be sentenced in May, according to the 4th Judicial District Attorney’s Office. He has a stipulated sentence of 10 years to life of sex offender intensive supervised probation.

McGhee was previously employed as the assistant director of special services with Widefield School District 3. The district said he didn’t have direct contact with students in that role.

The victim said McGhee told him he would deny anything ever happened between them if anyone ever confronted him. An arrest affidavit says the boy was assaulted at least 15 times.
