Local pro-gun owners worried about President Trump’s proposed rules

As the gun debate grows louder across the country, President Donald Trump has said that he would look into increasing the age that someone can buy a rifle.

He said, “We’re gonna do strong background checks. We’re gonna work on getting the age up to 21 instead of 18.”

It’s sparked an outcry from the Rocky Mountain Gun Owners. The president, Dudley Brown posted a video that said, “make no mistake, this is the tip of the gun control iceberg.

Owner of Specialty Sports and Supply, Jeff Lepp says the proposed restriction wouldn’t change anything because criminals don’t follow the laws, “a huge percentage of criminals commit crimes with guns they’ve stolen. They didn’t even buy them legally, so it’s not like you’re going to stop them from committing whatever they’re going to do.”

A customer inside the store shopping with his teenage sons said, “If you teach them gun safety at a young age, it’s something they never forget. They hold on to it.”

But convincing the anti-gun crowd of their side, maybe a never-ending battle.
