‘Boot Camp’ for troubled youth coming to Pueblo soon

A judge in the Steel City is looking for a way to help the youth of Pueblo make positive life choices.

Municipal Court Judge Carla Sykes will be implementing a ‘boot camp’ this summer.

It’s aimed at kids between the ages of 13 and 15 who have two or more cases with Municipal Court.

It will be a six-to-eight-week program with classes three days a week. The day will start with physical exercise and will move to the classroom in the afternoon.

Sykes says it’s a way to help kids make better choices and have a positive outcome.

“We really want to show them that they can make positive choices and they can make individual choices that are going to have a positive outcome for them and show them a different lifestyle,” said Judge Sykes.

Sykes says the boot camp will happen in June and July.
