Snow creates winter wonderland, slick roads in southern Colorado

Today: Due to overnight snow, we’re tracking icy and snow-covered roads! We got a couple more inches than expected. Weather models haven’t handled this pattern well. Plus, we were cooler than expected yesterday, and this allowed for roads to freeze over more quickly. Essentially, be prepared for winter weather driving. A few more light showers are possible, primarily this afternoon and evening. We’ll have a mixture of sunshine and clouds. Even then, chances aren’t looking too good. Temperatures will be frigid, only reaching the 20s and 30s!

Tonight: Partly cloudy skies are anticipated overnight. Lows drop to the single digits. We can’t entirely rule out some patches of fog due to easterly winds. We’ll track it! Overnight as temperatures continue to tumble, roads will stay slick. Use caution as you’re driving tonight!

Extended: We’ll be drier Wednesday with temperatures staying cold. Thursday, we have a slight chance for a few showers. Beyond that, much of your seven day forecast looks dry in the lower elevations. Temperatures range in the 40s and 50s this upcoming weekend.
