Snow and fog across Colorado Springs

The snowy weather Colorado saw made it difficult for people to commute Friday morning. The morning began as an icy one, with dusted and even snow-packed side streets.

The ice lead to several crashed and slide offs. One happened off 21st and Gold Hill Mesa when a car lost control after hitting a patch of ice.

The city worked hard to clear the ice, sanding the roads around the area. While main roads has some snow accumulation off to the sides, water being kicked onto windshields seemed to be a bigger issue than slick roads off Woodman. “It’s not bad so far but I can tell there’s ice on the road,” said one commuter. And off Powers and Woodman, fog began to accumulate. “Just be careful and keep you lights on because I have noticed a lot of people don’t have their lights on and it’s hard to see them,” said another commuter. With different road conditions in different areas, the safest bet is to assume the roads are slick and take it slow.
