Powerful winds today – 02/14/18

Today: Across southern Colorado, we’ll be experiencing strong winds. Thus, for most areas, we have a wind alert level one in effect; that means we could get gusts to the 30s and 40s! Isolated gusts to the 50s can’t be ruled out this afternoon, but generally – winds shouldn’t be as strong later today compared to this morning. Temperatures warm to the 60s and 70s in the lower elevations.

Tonight: Partly cloudy skies are anticipated overnight. Lows drop to the 20s and 30s. Winds will stay gusty.

Extended: Looking into the seven day forecast, it appears as if we’ll be dealing with gusty conditions almost each and every day! Tomorrow, we may have to hoist another wind alert. We’ll keep you posted. Late Thursday and into early Friday, we could be seeing some light rain and snow showers with little to no accumulations. Our following chance for showers won’t hit until Monday and Tuesday.
