Man sentenced to 20 years in prison for fatal hit-and-run in Fountain

A 41-year-old was sentenced to 20 years in prison on Friday for a fatal hit-and-run in Fountain back in August of 2017.

Richard Bitters was arrested on charges of Leaving the Scene of an Accident Involving death and Attempt to Influence a Public Servant after he hit and killed Mario Michael Wells near the intersection of South Highway 85 and Fontaine Boulevard on August 5, 2017.

Bitters will also be required five years mandatory parole following his jail sentence.
