Fountain man accused of sexually assaulting kids at wife’s daycare

A Fountain man has turned himself in after accusations of sexual assault at his wife’s daycare.

Larry Martinez, 50, is charged with two counts of sexual assault on a child and two counts of sexual assault on a child by one in a position of trust.

According to an arrest affidavit, Martinez would touch girls at A Mother S Touch daycare located on Creekfront Drive in Fountain. The daycare is owned by Denise Martinez, Larry’s wife.

One of the alleged victims said Martinez would take her into a back room of the daycare, turn off the lights and camera and would sexually assault her.

Martinez is accused of telling her he needed to “check her” and using latex gloves while he assaulted her. The girl said he scared her into not telling anyone what he was doing.

The victim, who went to the daycare between ages 3-7, said it happened multiple times and to multiple kids at the daycare.

On January 5, 2018, Martinez voluntarily went to the Fountain Police Department and told them the assault accusations were false and talked about changing diapers and “cleaning” children with a disposable wipe.

On January 8, 2018, Martinez again went to the Fountain Police Department and again denied being sexually inappropriate with children.

On February 8, 3018, Martinez turned himself into an El Paso County Jail after he was wanted by Fountain police.

Two daycare attendees told authorities they did not witness Martinez being inappropriate to children.

Martinez was investigated by Fountain Police in 2010 for assault with a different victim. Due to a lack of evidence Martinez was not arrested in 2010.
