Community honors Deputy Flick at growing memorial in Colorado Springs

Dozens of people gathered at the memorial growing outside the El Paso County Sheriff’s Office Friday to honor the life of Deputy Micah Flick and his family.

“I’m sorry, this is so hard,” said Pam Delaney, one of the visitors paying respect to the memorial.

“We don’t know what they truly experience and go through every day to keep our community safe.”

Flowers, notes, painted rocks, and balloons all surrounded the patrol car.

“He means everything to the public,” said Carl Stephenson.

Deputy Flick served our community for eleven years.

“Even though he’s no longer part of this world, he’s part of the next,” said Michael Hegarty.

The Sheriff’s’ office moved the memorial in light of the inclement weather expected Saturday.
