Community gathers for vigil for deputies involved in Colorado Springs shooting

Following three tragedies in Colorado in the past five weeks, with the most recent hitting close to home in El Paso County, members of the community continue to come together to show their support.

A few dozen people from the congregation at Springs Lighthouse gathered Wednesday night to pray and show support for law enforcement.

They spent time praying and lighting candles in honor of Deputy Micah Flick who was killed in Monday’s shooting, as well as for those that were wounded, hoping to show their support during this difficult time.

“It’s really hard when you’re doing a job like that when you feel like nobody cares and everybody’s against you. It’s important to let them know that they do have community, they do have support out here,” Annette Holstine said.

Deputy Scott Stone who was among those shot Monday is a member of the church, and their pastor is a reserve deputy as well.
