Colorado Springs Police Release Details on Monday Night Shooting

The quiet apartment complex that was once filled with police lights now sits dark. Just 30 hours after the local auto theft task force tried to arrest a suspect, now identified as Manuel Zentina, the parking lot now sits without any crime tape.

Lt. Howard Black says, “Sometimes we can do everything right and people still get hurt. We try to set up perimeters. We try to move into locations.”

Just after 4 p.m., the task force spotted a stolen vehicle. They surveilled it into the 4200 block of Galley road and saw the suspect exit the vehicle. Black says, “a tactical decision was made to ensure that the individual was outside of the car before they made contact.”

We don’t know much about Manuel Zentina. A resident at the Murray Hill Apartments said he might have known his family.

Michael DeRossett says, “They live here somewhere. I know I’ve ran into the sister a few times I didn’t it was her bother until just briefly.”

When asked if he Zentina lived there, he said, “If he lived here, I would… I’m outside every day with my dog. I take her out five to six time a day.”
