Community rallies behind fallen deputy in Colorado Springs

Dozens of deputies, officers, and people in the community stood outside the El Paso County Corrections Center waiting in the cold and windy night, all to say thank you to El Paso County Sheriff’s deputy Micah Flick who was killed in the line of duty.

People lined up to see the motorcade escorting deputy Flick. He was killed following a shooting near the Murray Hills Apartments in Colorado Springs on Monday afternoon.

The procession lasted a couple of minutes but people waited more than an hour to see it. Brandon Patton was one of them. He says it’s comforting to see the community come together to support our law enforcement during a deadly year. Patton says, “Everybody hates everything all the time lately and it’s good to show this much love you don’t see a whole of it.”
