Colorado Springs man shot while trying to buy marijuana

A Colorado Springs man was shot in the back Tuesday night while trying to buy marijuana near Austin Bluffs and Academy Blvd.

Colorado Springs police said officers went to a local hospital after the man was brought in with a gunshot wound around 10:50 p.m. The victim was able to speak with officers and described what happened.

The victim told police he was trying to buy marijuana from an unknown person in the 3600 block of Jeannine Drive ( MAP ) when the suspect pulled out a gun and started shooting at him. He was hit once in the back left side.

No description of the suspect was given. The victim was reported to be in stable condition.

Officers collected several shell casings at the scene, but police say the investigation is still ongoing.
