Colorado Springs police arrest suspect in Motor Way shooting
Colorado Springs police have a suspect in custody for the fatal shooting of a 30-year-old man earlier this month on West Motor Way.
Police say Arquinn Deandre Stafford was arrested Tuesday and charged with first-degree murder in the death of Benjamin Lee Sharkey.
Stafford’s mugshot was not provided by CSPD, but he has a criminal history in Florida for multiple firearms charges.
Sharkey was found shot to death on Jan. 7 in the 100 block of West Motor Way. The shooting happened two days before his 31st birthday. It was the first homicide investigation of 2018 for CSPD.
Police haven’t released any other information about the incident, saying it’s still an active investigation. They’re asking for any witnesses or people with information to contact the department at 719-444-7000.
