Mild today and gusty tomorrow – 01/24/18
Today: We’ll deal with mild and quiet weather today! Mostly sunny skies will be taking over southern Colorado. Temperatures will be above-average, reaching the 50s for many areas. Enjoy the beautiful weather!
Tonight: Mainly clear skies are anticipated overnight. Lows won’t be as cold as what we’ve seen recently; however, it will still be chilly! Temperatures plummet to the 20s by early Thursday morning.
Extended: Temperatures warm up further on Thursday as a ridge of high pressure slides east across southern Colorado ahead of a large area of low pressure over the West Coast that will be developing. Because of the increasing southwesterly flow ahead of this low, it will be GUSTY tomorrow. In fact, we have a wind alert level one in effect. Gusts could reach the 30s, possibly the 40s. This will be elevating fire danger. Winds will be lighter on Friday and temperatures will be cooler. There’s a slight chance for a few showers on Friday, but these will mostly take place in the mountains. We expect quiet weather this weekend.
