D49 officials: No ongoing threat after plan found in book
Colorado Springs District 49 officials sent an alert to parents Monday night saying that a book was found at Falcon Middle School that suggested a plan to harm other students, but an investigation found no ongoing threat.
According to an update posted to the district’s website , students found the book labeled with another student’s name and turned it into administrators.
The School Resource Officer with the El Paso County Sheriff’s Office conducted an interview with the student and the student’s parents but found it was an isolated incident. The student was released to their parents.
D49 applauded the staff and students who followed procedure during the investigation.
