Pueblo police searching for homicide suspect
PUEBLO – Officers in Pueblo are searching for a man who’s suspected in a homicide in Walsenberg.
Around 5:30 Saturday morning, officers spotted a carjacked Kia Sportage that was believed to be involved in the homicide. A chase began near the 3000 block of Lakeview, after the driver failed to stop for police. Two of the three passengers took off on foot in the area.
Officers continued to pursue the Kia until it crashed into a Pueblo Police cruiser in the area of Abriendo Ave. and I-25. The officers involved in the accident were taken to the hospital with non-life threatening injuries. A juvenile male was taken into custody after a brief struggle.
The suspect in the homicide, 30-year-old Kevin Vigil, took off during the chase. He’s about 5’11” with brown eyes and black hair. Vigil is believed to have ties to Pueblo. If you see him, call Pueblo Police at (719) 553-2538.
