Pueblo man killed in I-25 crash in El Paso County

EL PASO COUNTY – One person was killed in a crash on I-25 in El Paso County. It happened near exit 123, just after 2:00 a.m. Saturday morning.

Colorado State Patrol says 35-year-old Jasen Zeiger from Pueblo was driving a Jeep Grand Cherokee in the southbound lanes, when he lost control of the vehicle. The Jeep rolled across the median, and into the northbound lanes of I-25. Zeiger was not wearing his seat belt, and was ejected and struck by a Peterbilt truck. He was pronounced dead at the scene.

Zeiger’s passenger was also not wearing a seat belt. They were transported to the hospital with serious injuries.

Alcohol is believed to be a factor in the crash. Colorado State Police is still investigating at this time.
