Marty’s Sunday Morning Forecast – Warmer Sunday – 1/14/18

Today: We’ll end up mostly sunny & warmer for most areas today. Expect high temperatures to reach the upper 40s and 50s for many areas in eastern Colorado, mainly 40s over the mountains. For some areas we do expect the afternoon hours will be a bit breezy.

Tonight: Partly cloudy early. A cold front should slide over eastern Colorado late tonight, and as we approach dawn areas of low cloud cover and freezing fog should be building westward towards the I-25 corridor. A few areas may see some very light snow around daybreak. We expect low temperatures in the 20s for most areas.

Extended: The coldest air associated with this latest cold front will remain to our northeast, but as the leading edge of the colder air slides up against the mountains we expect areas of low cloud cover, freezing fog and very light snow to become more widespread during the morning hours. Right now it would appear our best chances for light snow would come to an end late Monday night, and it is possible that we will end up with some slick travel over some area roadways with snowfall accumulation of an inch or 2 possible for some areas. The air will cool into the 20s and 30s behind the cold front. We should warm noticeably through the end of next week, and although we’ll likely have some thick cloud cover at times, we should remain dry. By the end of the week we should be quite warm, but probably pretty windy as well. Colder and still windy as we move into next weekend, and it’s possible we’ll have some areas of rain and snow on Saturday…
