Pueblo PD: 2 motor theft suspects arrested within hours of each other

Two people wanted for vehicle theft were arrested within hours of each other in Pueblo on Thursday.

At 1:14 a.m., Pueblo police spotted a stolen 1994 Honda Accord. It was being driven by Yolanda Castillo, 36, who had a $10,000 warrant for Burglary/Theft.

She was arrested and transported to the Pueblo County Detention Center and will face additional charges of First Degree Aggravated Motor Vehicle Theft, First Degree Trespass and Violation of a Restraining order.

Hours later, at around 4:10 a.m., an officer approached a stolen Honda Accord in the Jack in the Box parking lot located at 910 W. Highway 50. In the driver’s seat was Raymond Casanova, 34. During the investigation, officers found weapons, drugs and VISA cards with various names inside of the vehicle.

Casanova was also taken to the Pueblo County Detention Center for charges of Second Degree Aggravated Motor Vehicle Theft, First Degree Trespass, three counts of Unlawful Possession of a Controlled Substance, Criminal Possession of a Financial Device and Violation of a Protection Order.

The Pueblo Police Department wanted to remind the public that Honda Accords were one of the most stolen vehicles in 2017 and for Accord owners to take extra precautions so that they do not become victims of auto theft.
