Colorado Springs crash sends driver to hospital after car slams into guard rail

The driver of the car that crashed into the guard rail on northbound Venetucci Boulevard was taken to the hospital Friday morning.

It was a single car accident. Officers had to cut open the side door of the vehicle to help the driver.The accident closed the road and officers blocked off traffic.

Details of the accident are still being investigated and the injuries of the driver are unknown.
