Man sentenced to 25 years to life for sexual assault cases in El Paso Co.

A man who was already serving 48 years to life in prison for a videotaped sexual assault incident in Aurora in January of 2016 was sentenced to 25 years to life in El Paso County court on Wednesday.

Former Air Force Staff Sgt. at Peterson Air Force Base Desmond Alvis Martin, 31, committed numerous sexual assaults in El Paso County. Law enforcement was able to identify him as their guy after noticing similarities between the Aurora incident and the ones that occurred in El Paso County.

It was revealed in Arapahoe County court that Martin entered a woman’s home in Aurora and forced her at gunpoint to perform sex acts while he taped her on his cell phone.

The Aurora victim spoke at the sentencing:

“What he did is not OK – nobody deserves to be held at gunpoint like I was. I’m still in therapy over the 30 minutes I spent with him…He needs to get what he deserves.”
