CSPD investigating threats made to Liberty High School

Liberty High School received threats over Snapchat around midnight on Tuesday. Colorado Springs Police are investigating the threats.

The threats have been ruled not credible, but high security measures are still in place.

Parents have been pulling their kids out of school and kids have been leaving on their own.

“For safety sake, for the kids and right now their classes are so disrupted that there’s really no benefit when 3/4 of the kids are missing out of class,” Liberty High School Parent, Brian Franks said.

The Director of Communication for School District 20 Allison Cortez said there is increased security at Liberty High School and CSPD is monitoring entrances in and out of the high school.

CSPD tweeted saying they have also increased security at Timberview Middle School.

Right now there is no information about the specific threat since it is being investigated.
