Dry today with rain/snow Wednesday – 01/09/18

Today: Today’s highs will be rivaling precious records for the 9th of January! Temperatures this afternoon will nearly match or possibly exceed those records, reaching the 60s and 70s in the lower elevations. We’ll have mostly sunny skies. We’ll also be flirting with a wind alert level one as well, meaning we could occasionally get gusty winds, possibly reaching 30 mph. Mountain snow will be ongoing – mainly along the Continental Divide.

Tonight: Partly cloudy skies are anticipated overnight. Lows drop to the 30s for most areas. In the high country, snow will be continuing.

Extended: Tomorrow, we have a weather alert in effect for some areas. This is because we’ll be dealing with changes: gusty winds and a cold front in the afternoon, rain to start and possibly rain converting to snow in the evening and overnight Wednesday into Thursday. Stay weather aware! Little to no accumulations are expected. Temperatures cool to the 30s and 40s on Thursday. We’ll rebound to the 40s and 50s on Friday.
