Quiet now and active ahead – 01/08/17

Today: Highs will reach the 50s and 60s across southern Colorado. Temperatures will be above-the-norm today! We’ll have increasing clouds this afternoon with a slight breeze. We stay dry and quiet today.

Tonight: Partly cloudy skies take us through the night. Lows drop to the 20s and 30s.

Extended: Temperatures warm up further Tuesday due to a strong southwesterly flow. Temperatures tomorrow will be above-average once again. In fact, we’ll be rivaling precious records set for the 9th of January in southern Colorado! Tomorrow, it will be breezy as well, and we’ll be dealing with elevated fire danger. Mountain showers will start Tuesday, and rain/snow will be tracking into the lower elevations Wednesday afternoon. A cold front Wednesday will drop us down to the 40s and 50s. We’ll dip even more on Thursday, down to the 30s and 40s. Any showers should wind down overnight Wednesday into early Thursday.
