Thieves take off with stolen car while Colorado Springs police arrest driver
Colorado Springs police found a stolen vehicle Saturday morning and staked it out in an effort to arrest the people who stole it, but while one person was taken into custody, several other suspects made off with the car.
According to police, officers found the stolen vehicle in the 800 block of Cheyenne Meadows Road at about 9:45 a.m. They saw people get into the vehicle and started to pull up, but the vehicle ended up hitting an unoccupied car.
Police say the suspects inside the car got out and tried to flee on foot. One officer used a stun gun on the driver and was able to make an arrest, but the others turned around, returned to the car and fled.
The suspect in custody hasn’t been identified at this time.
CSPD is still working to find the stolen vehicle.
