Jefferson County SO trying to ID attempted child kidnapper

The Jefferson County Sheriff’s Office needs the public’s help in identifying a man that tried to kidnap an 11-year-old boy in Ken Caryl, Colo.

Ken Caryl is located southwest of Littleton, Colo.

On Tuesday at around 5:15 p.m., the suspect walked up to the boy in the area of W. Chatfield Avenue and S. Kipling Parkway and offered to give him a ride. When the boy told him no, the man claimed he had seen the boy before and tried to offer a ride a second time. Again, the boy refused and started running until he reached his home.

The 11-year-old described the suspect as being white and standing 5’10”- 6′ tall. He had a medium build, red hair, and was wearing a green jacket, blue t-shirt, and jeans.

The boy said he was older because he had “a lot of wrinkles” on his face.

The sketch above was developed from the boy’s descriptions.
