Lifelong pals find out they’re half-brothers 60 years later

You may have seen a story making its way around social media of two lifelong pals finding out they are related.

Over the weekend in Hawaii, Walter MacFarlane and Alan Robinson announced the recent discovery. Thanks to Ancestry.com they found out their X chromosomes matched up which means they’re half-brothers. The brotherly tale doesn’t end there! DNA tests also confirm their big brother, Tom Gray who is 79 lives in Colorado Springs. All three have the same mother but Tom and Walter never knew Alan was their half-brother because he was adopted. The two best friends played sports together and went to the same high school. Six decades later it’s obvious why their bond was so special.

“That’s what’s really amazing, you know? We go about 60 years,” says Alan Robinson.

“But there was times when I did think umm…you know? I do look like Robby a little bit,” adds Walter MacFarlane.

“I’m so happy for my brother he’s just exuberant about this. This just made everything better,” says their big brother Tom Gray.

All three brothers will reunite in Colorado Springs sometime next year.
