Warmer Wednesday – 12/28/17

TODAY: Some places will be warmer than others today, but all of us are warmer than yesterday. Some low clouds still linger along the far eastern plains but all other locations remain mostly sunny and dry. Highs over the plains remain in the 30s today with some shallow cold air still in place. 30s and 40s are expected around Colorado Springs with 30s in Pueblo. The higher terrain can expect 40s and 50s with breezy conditions.

TONIGHT: A few clouds will develop along I-25 this evening but most areas remain mostly clear. Low temps will vary from the teens and 20s with some 30s in the higher terrain.

EXTENDED: As cold air slowly drains away from the plains, we expect a gradual warming trend over the lower terrain with not much variation in temps along the higher terrain. Overall, Thursday looks much warmer with 40s to near 50 in the Springs, 40s for Pueblo and the eastern plains and 50s over the higher terrain. 60s look reasonable for Friday with much colder air filtering in for Saturday and especially Sunday. It looks like we could have a much colder start to the New Year after the late week warm up.
