Homicide investigation underway following discovery of skeletal remains in Fremont County

The Fremont County Sheriff’s Office is currently investigating the death of Remzi Nesfield as a homicide.

Nesfield, 24, was last seen alive in March of 2007. His remains were found on the west side of Fremont County on September 28, 2016. It wasn’t until December 11, 2017, that investigators were positively able to identify him.

Using facial reconstruction, DNA tests, and tips from the community, authorities were able to obtain his identity.

In the past, Nesfield has lived in the Denver Metro area and Phoenix area.
