Vail opens new 6-person chairlift
Vail Ski Resort opened a new chairlift Tuesday and many visitors took advantage of it after several inches of snow blanketed the region during the Christmas weekend.

The Northwoods Express lift is Vail’s 10th new chairlift in the past 11 years, and the resort now has 900 acres of terrain open for skiing and snowboarding.
Vail’s opening follows the openings of new lifts at Beaver Creek last week and Breckenridge on opening day. That lift leads to a new 200-acre learning area at Beaver Creek called Red Buffalo Park. Breckenridge will also soon open a new high-speed chairlift to access Peak 10. That lift’s opening date hasn’t yet been announced.
