Marty’s Saturday Morning Forecast, 12/23/17

Today: Partly cloudy with windy conditions occasionally over and near the mountains. Afternoon temperatures over the plains will range from the 40s along and north of the Arkansas river, to the 50s to the west and south of Pueblo. Most of our mountain areas will have temperatures in the 30s to lower 40s. Snow will continue to fall over the ski resorts along and north of I-70 today, expect winter driving conditions over the high country.

Tonight: Windy at times & turning sharply colder with a slight chance for a few flurries over the Pikes Peak Region. Areas of low cloud cover and patchy freezing fog may develop late. Low temperatures tonight will be in the teens for most areas.

Extended: Sunday morning could start out a bit cloudy for some areas, but any morning low clouds should give way to a partly cloudy sky during the afternoon. High temperatures on Sunday will be colder for the plains with 20s and 30s for most areas. The air may begin to warm after midnight Sunday night, and Christmas Day looks warmer again with high temperatures in the 40s to lower 50s for the plains during the afternoon hours on Christmas Day, mainly 30s and 40s over the mountains. The shallow layer of colder air should slide back up against the mountains on Tuesday & Wednesday with temperatures falling back into the 30s and 40s. By late next week it’s possible another shot of very cold air and light snow will reach the area.
