KRDO NewsChannel 13 introduces meteorologist Stacey Garvilla

Meteorologist Stacey Garvilla is the newest member of the KRDO NewsChannel 13 weather team.

She made her on-air debut with NewsChannel 13 during the noon newscast on Friday.

So where did you come from?
I just came here from Joplin, Missouri, where I spent over five years forecasting. Home is Georgetown, Delaware near the beach.

What brought you to Colorado, had you visited before?
The challenge of forecasting near the mountains and, of course, the beauty of this area. It fits my lifestyle as I enjoy being outdoors and am an avid runner.

What do you love the most about being a meteorologist?
It’s a daily challenge and it allows me to be creative. It’s dynamic between the science of forecasting and then telling a story on air to make weather informative and compelling for the audience.

What do you like to do when you’re not working?
I enjoy running, hiking and spending time exploring with my husband and two dogs.

Favorite book, movie, and music?
Favorite move is Twister and I enjoy reading weather books. I listen to all kinds of music.
