Winter weather returns – 12/21/17

Today: Wintry weather returns to southern Colorado! A cold front blasting through this morning is kicking up the winds. It will also drop temperatures throughout the day today. Temperatures throughout the day will only range in the 20s and 30s. You’ll definitely need the extra warm layers and gloves today! It will be gusty, primarily this morning. For this reason, we have a wind alert level one in effect for some areas as gusts could range in the 30s. We’re also tracking chances for light snow on-and-off throughout the day today.

Tonight: Any pockets of snow diminish from north to south tonight. With plummeting temperatures overnight, there could be some icy spots developing where we got snow today. Use caution! Beyond that, we’re tracking quieter conditions with lows in the teens for most.

Extended: We’ll be drier and slightly warmer on Friday. It will be sunnier as well! On Saturday, our next disturbance impacts the area. There could be some areas of light snow; however, most of this will be taking place to our north. We’ll be drier by Sunday. It will be a chilly Christmas, but at least it will be sunny!
