Flight diverted to Colorado Springs due to smoke in cockpit

A Delta passenger airplane was diverted to Colorado Springs Municipal Airport Thursday after smoke started filling up the cockpit.

The Boeing 737 was on its way to Los Angeles from Raleigh, North Carolina, when it had to make the emergency stop. Officials tell us all of the passengers and crew members exited the plane safely.

At this time, it’s not known what caused the smoke in the cockpit. Officials didn’t say if the pilots suffered from any smoke inhalation.

Delta says it’s bringing another aircraft to COS to pick up those passengers.
