Where you can recycle your Christmas tree in El Paso County

Soon you will be taking down the stockings and removing the Christmas lights, and then you’ll be left wondering what to do with your Christmas tree.

El Paso County’s annual program ‘Treecycle’ will be held on December 30 and December 31, ending 2017. It will pick up again on January 6 and 7.

There will be six collection sites open on those dates from 9 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Those include:

Baptist Road Trailhead Falcon Trailhead Cottonwood Creek Park Sky Sox Stadium Rock Ledge Ranch Memorial Park

Trees may also be taken to Rocky Top Resources located at 1755 E Las Vegas Street in Colorado Springs on December 26 to 29 and January 2 to 31 from 7:30 a.m. to 5 p.m. on weekdays and from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. on Saturdays.

Donated trees will be ground into mulch given away for free.

The $5 suggested minimum donation is tax deductible and benefits community youth sports programs through El Pomar Youth Sports.
