Slow snow making for rough beginning of ski season

Colorado has been lacking snowfall this season, both in the cities and on the slopes.

Snow has been more abundant in Breckenridge, yet still on the low side compared to season past.

But according to Breckenridge Communications Director Sara Lococo, this is normal.

“I t’s actually been a great season so far, we’ve had the cold temperatures, so snow making has been going around the clock every time that weather permits,” Lococo said. “We have been able to open new terrain on the man-made snow, as well as the natural snow. I think people forget that we’ve received more than three and a half feet of snow so far this year.”

Breckenridge is expected to receive more snow this coming weekend.
