Teen, adult arrested in 22 robberies in El Paso County

A 17-year-old and a 26-year-old were arrested on Friday in connection with a series of aggravated and attempted robberies in El Paso County.

Ian Hansen, 26, and the juvenile have been charged with 22 robberies that began on November 26, 2017, and ended on December 13, 2017. The robberies included personal robberies, as well as businesses such as convenience stores, restaurants, and hotels.

The suspects terrorized the victims, pointed guns at them and demanded money, according to the Colorado Springs Police Department.

Seventeen of the robberies were done in Colorado Springs:

Nov. 30 Texas Roadhouse located at 3100 N Powers Blvd. Nov. 30 Domino’s located at 5100 N Academy Blvd. Nov. 30 Personal Robbery at 3300 N Chestnut St. Nov. 30 Personal Robbery at 3300 N Chestnut St. Nov. 30 Papa John’s located at 600 N Union Blvd. Dec.4 Western Convenience located at 2500 E Platte Ave. Dec. 5 Staybridge Suites located at 7100 Commerce Center Dr. Dec. 6 Family Dollar Store located at 3700 Verde Dr. Dec. 8 Subway located at 3400 N Academy Blvd. Dec.11 Great Wolf Lodge located at 9400 Federal Dr. Dec. 13 Family Dollar Store located at 4400 Edison Ave.

The pair is also suspected of five robberies in El Paso County. The County has not released the details of those five.

While authorities were executing four search warrants, they recovered personal items belonging to the victims, as well as eight guns, an undisclosed amount of cash, and numerous narcotics including pills, marijuana, methamphetamine, heroin, and cocaine.
