Pet memorials taken off a popular tree in Monument

Two trees stand in the park where people would commonly place memorials of their pets that had passed away.

For Kat Fentiman it’s heart breaking. The memorial is put up from Thanksgiving to New Years. But now instead of memorials, a note is left from the El Paso County parks staff.

“So many people that do not know this has happened must be heartsick when they are going to see it,” said Fentiman.

We reached out to the EL Paso County Parks Staff multiple times with no response

If you want to retrieve your memorials, you can get them from the Fox Run Maintenance shop before January Second.
