Police force introducing pitbulls to the K9 unit

A new breed is being added to the K-9 police force.

Kano the pitbull was recently named an officer for a police department in Kansas.
Our ABC affiliate KTRK reported that the agency got the dog from Universal K9 in San Antonio.

According to its website, the group saves dogs to train for law enforcement and veterans.

Kano’s handler is hoping to eliminate some of the stigma associated with pit bulls.

Around 2,000 pit bulls are working for police departments around the country.
