Mother accused of trying to sell baby on Craigslist
A man and women are charged with aggravated child abuse and child neglect or endangerment after posting an ad on Craigslist trying to sell their baby for $3,000.
John David Cain, 26, and Deanna Lynn Greer, 37, from Tennessee attempted to sell their five month old infant.
KRDO’s affiliate WATE in Knoxville reported Saturday, citing the Greene County Sheriff’s Office.
The two were caught by state agents during a sting operation when they exchanged the baby for cash.
Cain and Greer were arrested immediately and taken into custody at the Greene County Jail in Greeneville, according to the report.
Both are held on a $150,000 bond, and are scheduled to appear in court during the first week of April.
The baby is in state custody.
