Fatal car crash on I-70, closes interstate

Interstate 70 closed on Tuesday morning in both directions near Georgetown after a semi truck crashed into a bridge support column.

KRDO’S affiliate station, KMGH, reported the Colorado State Patrol said the semi’s driver was heading westbound on I-70 before the vehicle crossed the median into the eastbound lanes and then hit the pillar of an overpass.

Troopers said one person was killed and another suffered serious injuries.

No other vehicles were involved.
