Homeowner facing arson charges after fire burns out of control

A 200-acre fire burned off Hwy. 94 between Yoder and Rush Saturday afternoon threatening multiple homes.

The fire has endangered six structures, including four homes and completely destroyed a camper.

Eight agencies, including the El Paso County Wildland Fire Crew responded to the fire.

A homeowner is facing 4th-degree arson charges after investigators believe the fire started on their property.

The district is currently under a burn ban. No injuries were reported and the fire was put out in a little over an hour.
