Trial date set for 3rd suspect in Highway 24 murder

One of the three people charged with murder in the death of a 23-year-old man whose body was found near Peyton is scheduled to stand trial in May.

Police say Israel Jimenez-Roldan and two others were responsible for the death of 23-year-old Lawrence D. Gloster. Gloster was found shot to death and beaten on April 8 in an abandoned building in the 21800 block of E. Highway 24.

Jimenez-Roldan pleaded not guilty to murder Friday. He will undergo a pre-trial readiness conference on May 4 before the scheduled trial on May 14 in El Paso County. The trial is expected to last seven days.

The two other suspects, Anthony Loya and Jorge Galvan-Flores, are also charged with first-degree murder in Gloster’s death.

Detectives said during an evidence hearing that Galvan-Flores was a drug kingpin and that missing drugs led to the murder. Loya also confirmed that he was a South Side Sureño gang member, according to a detective.
