Cold day with light snow this afternoon – 12/07/17

Today: It will be a FRIGID day across southern Colorado! Highs will only range in the 20s and 30s. This morning, we’ll battle wind chill temperatures in the single digits and even subzero temperatures! Bundle up today – the cold is no joke! It will be breezy to gusty as well. Later this afternoon and evening, we have a slight chance for some light snow showers in northern El Paso and Teller Counties. Some snow is also possible over the Sangres and Raton Mesa area. Little to no accumulations are expected.

Tonight: Lows drop to the teens and 20s under mostly cloudy skies. Some light snow is still possible over the previously mentioned areas; however, activity will gradually wind down. Some slick roads are possible where showers fall, so be weather aware!

Extended: Temperatures rebound to the 40s and 50s Friday. We’ll have increasing sunshine tomorrow. On Friday, we’ll be dealing with powerful gusts. For this reason, a wind alert level one is in effect! Some gusts could reach the 30s and 40s – especially in the eastern plains. Temperatures stay above-the-norm throughout the rest of your seven day forecast. We should stay dry into the middle of next work week as well.
