Leaders in southeast Colorado Springs hold forum to address concerns in the area

Leaders in the southeast part of Colorado Springs are holding a public forum on Wednesday night to address concerns plaguing that part of the city.

The forum will have a panel consisting of Councilwoman Yolanda Avila, Harrison School District 2 Board Member Jeannie Orozco, Colorado Springs Urban Renewal Authority’s Executive Director Jariah Walker, and Commander Scott Whittington with the Colorado Springs Police Department.

The forum will begin at 7 p.m. at the Tutt Boys and Girls Club, located at 1455 South Chelton Road.

Some of the topics expected to be discussed are the area’s poverty, unemployment, crime, and housing.
