Backhoe used in Colorado Springs attempted ATM theft
Colorado Springs police are investigating an attempted theft at the U.S. Bank on Garden of the Gods Road.
Officers say someone stole the backhoe from a nearby construction site Wednesday morning before driving it to the bank.
They then used the machinery to rip off the front of the ATM, but they were unable to get inside the safe. The person then ran off, police said.
Police have not released any suspect information.
