Former Pueblo Co. Republican Party treasurer accused of fraud arrested in El Salvador

The former Pueblo County Republican Party treasurer who is being accused of fraud in Colorado was arrested in El Salvador in a separate fraud investigation.

Jeff Fogg was taken into custody in El Salvador on November 17 on suspicion of stealing $100,000, according to the El Salvador Times.

Our partners at The Pueblo Chieftain report that Fogg, 50, missed his Nov. 16 court appearance in Pueblo where he faces charges connected to stealing between $20,000 and $100,000 from the county and the misuse of a credit card while acting as treasurer between April 2013 and July 2015.

His trial date was scheduled for December 11.

A previous version of this story identified Fogg as the treasurer of Pueblo County. This article has been updated to show he was the treasurer of the Pueblo County Republican Party.
