Snowboarder killed at Monarch Identified

The Chaffee County Sheriff’s Office has identified the man killed in a snowboarding accident on Monarch Mountain.

Monarch ski patrol found U.S Service Member, Collin J. Zak, 23, after he hit a tree.

Crews tried to perform CPR but had no luck. They pronounced him dead at the scene.

Deputies tell us he was wearing a helmet at the time of the accident.
