Police identify homicide victim, and see a rise in homicides in Colorado Springs

The Colorado Springs Police Department has identified the victim from a homicide investigation that took place on 2400 block of East Williamette Avenue, just east of downtown Colorado Springs on November 29.

The male victim has been identified as 55 year-old Charles Gene Lucas, a resident from Colorado Springs.

According to CSPD, Lucas’s death is the 28th homicide investigated by the department in 2017. The City of Colorado Springs had 21 homicides at this time last year.
